Gavilon Unveils New Logo and Branding

« Back to news

Omaha, Neb. (AUG. 1, 2012) –The Gavilon Group, LLC today introduced a new brand identity and logo to encapsulate its dynamic growth and strength as one of the world’s leading commodity management firms.

The company—which buys, sells, stores and transports grain and  ingredients, fertilizer and energy—replaced its former logo, used since its inception in 2008, with a shield, symbolizing the company’s strength and vitality. It is accompanied with the tagline, “Thrive On,” representing the company’s dedication to cultivating, growing and unleashing the full potential of its employees, customers and marketing partners in the commodities industry.

“Over the years, we’ve combined a number of high-performing businesses and brought together numerous talented individuals into the company,” said Greg Heckman, Gavilon’s president and chief executive officer. “It is time to bring the collective power of the entire organization under the Gavilon name, aligned by our mission to become the most efficient provider of essential commodities and services in the world.”

Since Gavilon became a private company in 2008, it has completed 13 acquisitions and 14 Greenfield projects, doubling its employee base to 2,000. Those acquisitions, which included Kansas City-based DeBruce Companies in 2010, positioned Gavilon as the third-largest grain handler in the United States by licensed storage capacity. In May, Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s largest general trading companies, agreed to purchase Gavilon—a transaction that will position Marubeni as one of the largest grain handlers, traders and marketers in the world when complete.

“We are dedicated to working together with our partners, striving to outperform, seizing new opportunities, executing with speed and precision, and delivering on our commitments,” Heckman said. “I’m looking forward to our future and excited about reaching our full potential as a Marubeni company.”
